Amid the ongoing Adani-Hindenburg row, Congress launched nationwide protests on 6 February over allegations of financial irregularities and market manipulation against the conglomerate.
Seeking to corner the Narendra Modi government over the Adani controversy, the Congress on 6 February launched nationwide protests. Dramatic visuals were seen in Jammu as Congress protestors tried to push back barriers put up by police to limit the demonstration.
In Kerala's Kochi, the Congress cadre took out a protest march. A similar demonstration was carried out in Karnataka's Bengaluru. In Delhi, members of Congress' student wing NSUI climbed on barricades with posters demanding a JPC probe.
In Telangana's Hyderabad, a protest was held outside the SBI office. An SBI office in Mumbai saw a similar demonstration. In Tamil Nadu's Chennai, Congress held a protest outside LIC's Southern Zonal Office.
On February 3, the Congress and 16 opposition parties demanded a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) or Supreme Court-monitored probe into the Hindenburg report against the Adani Group. The report triggered a sell-off of shares of all Adani Group companies.
