The serving of non-vegetarian food to the wrong customer has gotten two employees of Air India grounded.
Two cabin crew members of Air India's Tokyo-Delhi flight were reportedly grounded. The incident reportedly occurred on March 25.
The crew members served a non-veg meal to a vegetarian passenger, as per a PTI report.
The passenger in question had booked a Jain vegetarian meal, the report said. The passenger registered a complaint after realising that he had been served a non-veg meal.
In an unverified viral video purportedly of the incident, a passenger is seen confronting the flight crew about the mistake. In the video, the passenger accuses the staff of being careless and not ensuring the right meal is served to the right person. The passenger claimed that his religious feelings were hurt.
In response, the air hostess says that she confirmed with someone before serving the meal. The crew then object to the passenger recording a video of the incident.
The case led to the initiation of an inquiry against the crew members, who have been grounded.
