An Air India pilot died at a training session conducted at Delhi airport’s terminal 3. Himmanil Kumar, who was in his 30s, appeared to suffer a cardiac arrest.
The pilot was reportedly training to operate a Boeing 777 after flying narrow-body aircraft in the early stage of his career. Reports say Kumar was declared fit after recent medical tests.
NDTV reported that the pilot appears to have suffered a cardiac arrest. However, no official confirmation has been given by Air India.
An Air India official told the outlet that Kumar’s family will be given all possible assistance. The official also informed Kumar’s father was also a senior commander for Air India.
“All his past medical assessments were fine with no detected underlying medical conditions,” Hindustan Times reported citing an airline official.
