Patna's airport reportedly received a bomb threat on Tuesday afternoon, prompting heightened security Jayprakash Narayan International Airport. The threat was received on email, hours after a similar warning was sent to the Vadodra and Jaipur airports.
While a numerous such threats have proved to be a hoax in the recent past, officials combed through the airport in Bihar's capital city.
“A bomb threat through email was received at the Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport, besides 41 other airports. The Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) Meeting was convened… and it found the threat to be non-specific,” Airport Director Anchal Prakash said.
Security officials from the Jaipur airport have confirmed that no bombs were found after a thorough search. "The airport was thoroughly checked but nothing suspicious has been found so far," police told news agency PTI.
Another bomb threat was received on a Dubai-bound flight, which was ultimately delayed. After an email warning about a bomb on the aircraft was received, security agencies conducted a thorough check of the international flight that was scheduled for departure around 10.30 am on Tuesday, they said.
The inspection revealed that the threat was a hoax and the flight has been cleared to proceed to its destination, they added.
