As Unacademy row simmers, an old video of an online teacher making political remarks has surfaced online. The teacher was seen telling students that educated people should enter Indian politics.
The teacher said it's likely that all parties will dwell on older issues and not vow to improve healthcare and education.
The teacher, who is being called “Babita madam”, works for the ed-tech platform ICS Coaching Centre.
“When you are going to vote, remember that you will hand them the responsibility for five years with aspects such as jobs, recruitment, standards of schools and colleges,” she said in the video.
Edtech firm Unacademy fired educator Karan Sangwan, who also urged his students to vote for educated candidates.
