Amidst Outrage Over RG Kar Medical College Rape Case In India’s Bengal, Another Incident In Bihar

Amidst outrage over rape and murder of Kolkata student, another incident shocks India.

Rape attempt on nurse working at private hospital in Bihar. Assault happened on the night of
August 11 in hospital at Musrigharari area. 

Senior doctor, 2 aides in an inebriated state tried to rape the nurse at the hospital.

But the woman fought back, striking doctor's genitals with blade, following which she ran away. The survivor later called cops outside the hospital, and informed them about the rape attempt.

Police team immediately reached spot and rescued assaulted nurse.

‘Another police team reached hospital and nabbed the doctor and his 2 aides’.

‘3 men switched off CCTV,  locked the hospital from inside & assaulted her’.

“The presence of mind and courage shown by the survivor is praiseworthy," said Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Pandey.

Police recovered blade, blood-stained clothes, a liquor bottle and three phones.

The accused booked under attempt to rape charge, breaking booze laws.

Alcohol banned in Bihar since April 2016. The Bihar incident comes amidst outcry in Bengal over
medical student rape case.

A trainee doctor, 31, was raped and murdered. Her body was found in seminar room of hospital.

The Kolkata rape triggered month-long protests, and the Bengal CM offered to resign.

An accused man was held for rape, and the former principal of the college was arrested by CBI.

Junior doctors have been on cease-work protests, demanded resignation of police chief, health officials.
