After questioning him for over 17 hours, the Enforcement Directorate on Saturday arrested former Bengal school education minister Partha Chaterjee in the teacher recruitment scam.
The arrest comes after the fedral probe agency raided the house of Partha's close aide Arpita Mukherjee and found over Rs 20 crore cash.
Aripta has been detained by the ED. Officials interrogated Partha, who is currently the Industries Minister, overnight. The questioning began at the residence of the minister at 8 AM on Friday. Officials said Partha didn't cooperate during the questioning.
Chatterjee was the state education minister when the scam took place and ED is probing the money laundering aspect of those allegedly involved in it.
