Bengaluru rains break 133-year record with highest rain in a single day in June

Southwest Monsoon has arrived in Karnataka and Bengaluru is experiencing thundershowers. On Sunday, Bengaluru even witnessed record rainfall as the city broke a 133-year record with the highest rain in a single day in June. 

On June 2, Bengaluru recorded rainfall of 111.11 mm. The Karnataka capital witnessed 101.6 mm of rainfall on June 16, 1891.

According to the weekly forecast by the weather department, the Silicon Valley of India is expected to witness rain or thundershowers from June 2-5. Further rainfall is also expected on June 8 and 9.
