Police are maintaining highest vigil in Punjab after their intelligence headquarter in Mohali was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade late on Monday night.
The windowpanes on one of the floors of the building were shattered because of the explosion.
In a statement the Punjab Police said that a minor explosion took place and no casaulty has been reported. Police rushed forensic scientists as it began probe with senior officials rushing to the spot of the attack. The area around the office, reports said was immediately sealed.
“A minor explosion was reported at the Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters in sector 77, SAS Nagar at around 7.45 PM. No damage has been reported. Senior officers are on the spot and an investigation is being done. Forensic teams have been called,” the Mohali police said in a statement.

On Sunday, Punjab Police had recovered an explosive device packed with around 1.5 kg of RDX and arrested two men in a village in Tarn Taran district.
