Budget Session 2023: 6 bills passed, over 24% productivity and lots of protest

The Lok Sabha registered a productivity of 34% and Rajya Sabha 24.4% during the Budget session of the Parliament that ended on Thursday, according to the data given by Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal. 

He said six bills were passed by both the Houses and eight bills were introduced in the Lok Sabha. 

Data compiled by legislative research thinktank PRS,  Parliament could function much less than the planned duration with daily protests and frequent adjournments disrupting the second half of the Budget Session. According to it, the Lok Sabha functioned for over 45 hours against a scheduled duration of 133.6 hours while the Rajya Sabha worked for over 31 hours out of 130 hours.
