Days after alleged pro-Khalistani elements issued threats for Indian diplomats in Canada, the country's foreign affairs minister issued a statement.

Melanie Joly said that Canada takes its obligations under the Vienna Conventions for the safety of diplomats very seriously.

She called the alleged threats "unacceptable", and added that the actions of a few do not speak for an entire community, or Canada.

Posters for a pro-Khalistan rally planned for July 8 in Surrey have threats for the Indian High Commissioner and the Consul General, as per reports.
