Congress kicks off its over 10-day long country-wide agitation across the country on Wednesday. The party plans to hold 'mehangai chaupals' or public meetings in mandis, retail markets and other locations in all assembly constituencies from August 17 to August 23.

The agitation will end with a mega rally at the Ram Lila Maidan in the national capital on August 28.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh while announcing the protests last week had said that the demonstrations organised by the party against the Modi govt on August 5 resonated with t he masses and they will take the fight forward with a series of protests against the price rise and unemployment in the coming weeks.
