Political cost aside the bills are racking up as Eknath Shinde along with his 40 odd supporters remain camped in a five-star hotel in Guwahati.
As per reports, a total of 70 rooms have been booked at the luxury hotel, the cost of which is estimated at around Rs 56 lakhs. One must not forget to add the daily expenses of food and room service to this bill which as per reports is billed at close to Rs 8 lakhs per day.
So a grand total of the estimated cost for a week of stay is over Rs 1 crore. This is not including the cost of the multiple transfers being undertaken in private chartered flights.
The hotel has 196 rooms. Apart from the 70 rooms booked for the MLAs and their teams, the management is not accepting new bookings, barring those booked on corporate deals already. Also, the banquet is closed, so is the restaurant except for those staying at the hotel.
