Covid-19: Need to remain vigilant in the holiday season says former AIIMS director

Amid rising covid cases, former AIIMS director Dr Randeep Guleria has urged people to remain cautious in the coming days as cases are likely to rise due to people travelling abroad where the virus is spreading.

Speaking to NDTV, the former AIIMS director, however, assured that the Covid situation in India is much better at present because of a hugely successful vaccine drive

As countires including China and South Korea report high number of cases, the government has sounded an alert and asked states and Union territories to prepare for any eventuality.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Health Minister Mandaviya have held meetings to assess the country's preparedness to deal with a fresh surge in cases.
