India saw another big jump in Covid cases. The country logged close to 3.5 lakh cases in 24 hours, according to the data released by the health ministry on Friday morning.
This is a 9% jump from infections recorded a day before. India has logged over 3 lakh Covid cases for the second day in a row.
The country also recorded 703 deaths due to Covid in the last 24 hours.
Daily positivity rate in the country is now nearing 18 per cent.

The number of active Covid cases has shot past the 20-lakh mark, while the national recovery rate has decreased to 93.5 per cent.
Meanwhile, the number of Omicron variant cases has also gone up to 9,692. Cases of the new, more infectious variant have been detected across 29 states and union territories.
The cumulative Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the country have crossed the 160-crore mark. 94 per cent of India's adults have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, while 72 per cent are fully vaccinated, according to the government.
