Cyclone Michaung: Chennai sees heavy rains, suburban train services suspended

As Cyclone 'Michaung' approaches the Tamil Nadu coast, several parts of Chennai witnessed heavy rainfall.

Due to heavy rains and waterlogging, suburban train services in all the Chennai sections have been temporarily suspended.

Southern Railway said that the services will remain halted at least up to 8 am. It added that only Passenger Specials will be operated in these sections until further advice.

As the rains battered the city, around 15 people were rescued amid severe waterlogging in Tambaram area.
