Cyclone Mocha may intensify into severe storm by...: IMD's warning

Cyclone Mocha, which is forming over the Bay of Bengal, may intensify into a very severe storm by May 12, 2023, and move towards Bangladesh and Myanmar coasts.

The Indian Meteorological Department warned that when this happens, wind speeds could reach 130 kilometres per hour.

The weather department asked authorities to regulate tourism, offshore activities, and shipping near the Andaman & Nicobar Islands till May 12.
