Cyclone Mocha to reach peak intensity by...: weather dept's prediction

The deep depression over the Bay of Bengal intensified into a cyclonic storm named Mocha on the intervening night of May 10 and 11, 2023.

It is expected to turn into a severe cyclonic storm by the night of May 11, and reach peak intensity on the evening of May 13.

It is likely to make landfall between Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh and Sittwe in Myanmar.

Mocha is expected to cause heavy rainfall in India's Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
