The police deployed at the Punjab-Haryana Shambhu border attempted to block the movement of farmers protesting as part of their 'Delhi Chalo' march. They fired tear gas to disperse protesting farmers.

Meanwhile, Punjab Police allowed protesting farmers to cross Rajpura bypass to head towards Haryana's Ambala on their way to Delhi.

Massive security arrangements have been put in place at Delhi borders and other vehicles carrying protesters has been prohibited.

The farmers are protesting against the Centre over their various demands, including a law to implement minimum support price (MSP).

The talks between farmer leaders and the Centre on February 12 remained inconclusive.
