Central Bureau Of Investigation has initiated a preliminary enquiry to probe alleged irregularities in the construction and 'renovation' of a new residence for Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, ANI reported citing CBI sources.
The enquiry has been opened against 'unknown officials of the Delhi government', NDTV said, adding that an FIR will be registered if the CBI finds a prima facie case during the probe.
Notably, a massive row erupted after a Raj Niwas order issued on April 27 cited reports on alleged "gross irregularities" in the renovation of the residence by the PWD.
LG VK Saxena had also ordered officials to secure the records of expenditure and sought a report on the matter within 15 days in April.
