The national capital continues to be unsafe for the women. As the nation was celebrating its 73rd Republic Day, a woman was allegedly kidnapped, gang-raped and assaulted in Kasturba Nagar of New Delhi.
The woman's hair was chopped, she was garlanded with shoes and made to walk the streets by the accused as the locals cheered on.
Police said the incident is suspected to be the result of the woman's personal enmity with the accused, police said.
Reports said the gang-rape survivor was being followed by a youth from the neighbourhood who later died by suicide in November, last year. The youth's family held the woman responsible for his suicide.
Police have nabbed four accused and the probe is on.
