After three attempts to elect Delhi's new Mayor and Deputy Mayor were disrupted by political clashes between the Aam Aadmi Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party, the fourth bid is set to take place today.

Voting is scheduled to take place at a session of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi after AAP mayoral candidate Shelly Oberoi approached the Supreme Court. The top court ruled in the AAP's favour, saying that members nominated by the Lieutenant Governor cannot vote in the mayoral election.

Apart from the mayor and deputy mayor, six members of the standing committee are also scheduled to be elected.
