Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's judicial custody was extended till July 3 by a Delhi court on Wednesday in the money laundering case linked to the alleged excise scam.
Special Judge Niyay Bindu extended the custody of Kejriwal after he was produced before the court through video conference on the expiry of his judicial custody granted earlier.
Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate told the Rouse Avenue Court that it had evidence of Arvind Kejriwal demanding Rs 100 crore as kickbacks in the now withdrawn liquor policy case, reports India Today.
During the hearing, the counsel appearing for Kejriwal, opposed the ED's application seeking an extension of his judicial custody, saying there were no grounds justifying extension of his custody
Judge Nyay Bindu further said that she would pass the order on Kejriwal bail plea immediately after the hearing, adding that it she would not reserve the order.
"I will not reserve order. Everyone knows it is a high-profile matter. I will pass the order after hearing it. I will not reserve the order," Judge Bindu said, reports Bar and Bench outlet.
