Dibrugarh Express train derails in UP's Gonda, 1 killed, 20 injured

A passenger train travelling from Chandigarh to Dibrugarh derailed in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district on the 18th of July, leaving at least one person killed and 20 injured.

Several videos circulating on social media showed coaches of Dibrugarh Express lying on the side of the railway track. According to reports, at least five to six coaches veered off the track. 

Railway authorities said that the mishap happened around 2.35 pm.

A contingent of Army jawans have been deployed to the accident site to assist the local administration in relief work.

Chief Ministers Yogi Adityanath and Himanta Biswa Sarma have taken stock of the situation.
