DRDO engineer honeytrapped by Pakistani spy; charged with 'criminal breach of trust'

In yet another case of honeytrap, an engineer with the DRDO laboratory in Hyderabad was arrested after he was charged with leaking sensitive information. It was alleged that he leaked information on India's missile programme to a Pakistani spy, who claimed she worked with a UK-based defence journal. 

The 29-year-old Dukka Mallikarjuna Reddy was working as a contractual staff of the Advanced Naval System Programme of DRDL since 2020. He was taken into custody from his home on Friday and has been charged for criminal breach of trust and under various Sections of the Official Secrets Act.

Reddy had been in touch with Natasha Rao alias Simran Chopra alias Omisha Addii for nearly two years during which he is alleged to have shared crucial information.
