West Bengal Forest Minister Jyotipriya Mallick was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate after being questioned for over 20 hours in connection to an alleged ‘ration scam’.
Mallick, who was the former food minister of the state, was arrested at 3.23 a.m. on Friday.
The ED sleuths had raided two houses belonging to Mallick at Kolkata's Salt Lake area. The probe agency also carried out a search at his ancestral house on Amherst Street in central Kolkata.
