A car rally in support of the farmers protesting against the Centre was held at the Shambhu border on 8th March. The rally was taken out by a socio-political outfit called Misl Satluj.
According to The Tribune, members of the outfit from Mohali, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Rupnagar, Bathinda and Nawanshahr converged at Rajpura, from where they moved in procession to Shambhu border.
“Hundreds of cars of Misl Satluj cadres came from all over Punjab to show their solidarity with the farmers. We are here to support the cause of our farmers and we feel that a regional political party is a must for resolving the issues of Punjab. The Misl Satluj is coming out with a programme to bridge this gap,” said Ajaypal Singh Brar, president of Misl Satluj.
Meanwhile, women farmers also participated in the ongoing farmer's agitation on the occasion of International Women's Day.
The women farmers said the ongoing stir will continue till the time Centre does not accept the demands of the farmers.
As the stir at Shambhu and Khanauri protest sites entered its 25th day, many women farmers reached there. A mahila panchayat was also organised in which a number of women participated.
