India's indigenous defence industry has crossed a new milestone with Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas being deployed abroad for a military exercise by the Indian Air Force for the first time, as per news agency ANI.
The made-in-India Tejas fighter jet is part of a contingent which has travelled to the United Arab Emirates for the Desert Flag military drill. Five Tejas jets and two C-17 transport aircraft are reportedly representing India at the multilateral exercise.

Apart from India, the air forces of the UAE, United States of America, France, Kuwait, Australia, United Kingdom, Bahrain, Morocco, Spain, South Korea will participate.
The exercise will be held from 27 February to 17 March 2023.
