Amid a spate of technical malfunctions hitting Indian passenger flights, a smoke warning went off in an IndiGo flight on 21 August, but it was later found to be a false alarm.
A cargo smoke warning went off prior to the plane's landing in Kolkata. When the Delhi-Kolkata flight landed, inspections were conducted in the Airbus plane and the "warning was confirmed as spurious".
IndiGo Airlines reportedly said that the detection system is undergoing rectifications.
