G20 summit: who is coming and who is not

As India adds finishing touches to its G20 preparations, more than 40 state representatives are expected to huddle in New Delhi on September 9 and 10.

UK PM Rishi Sunak, Australia’s Anthony Albanese, Canada’s Justin Trudeau and US President Joe Biden are some of many who have confirmed their presence.

The confirmed no-show list includes Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Notably, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reportedly not been invited to the G20 summit.

The presence of some delegations remains doubtful, including Indonesia, Brazil, Mexico and Italy. European Union representatives are also yet to confirm their attendance. 

The G20 summit in India will be a pit stop for multiple world leaders, who will travel further for additional state visits. These include Joe Biden, Anthony Albanese and Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

In addition to attending the 2-day G20 summit, multiple world leaders and dignitaries are expected to visit New Delhi’s Rajghat to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi at his memorial.
