Cases of H3N2 influenza continue to rise in India, with several states reporting infections, and some suspecting deaths due to the virus.

Assam reported its first H3N2 case on the night of 15 March.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra reported two fatalities suspected to be caused by influenza. A 23-year-old MBBS student may have died due to a mixed infection of Covid, H1N1, and H3N2, while a 74-year-old man possibly died due to H3N2.

The Tamil Nadu government on 15 March said that no severe cases and ICU admissions have been reported in the state. A state minister said that 1,000 medical camps are being organised daily.
