The first purchase of wheat has commenced in Karnal district's new grain market, bringing smiles to the faces of farmers.
The wheat is being sold at Rs. 2,275 per quintal. However, some farmers expressed concerns about lower yields leading to potential losses.
They urged prompt wheat procurement to avoid disruptions in the purchasing process. Market authorities assured proper arrangements for electricity, water, and sanitation, urging farmers to bring dry and clean crops to the market.
Sandeep Sachdeva, Secretary of the new grain market, confirmed the official commencement of wheat procurement and emphasized the need for farmers to bring their crops to the market in good condition.
He assured that all necessary facilities are available in the market to facilitate smooth transactions for farmers.
