IAS officer Rinku Dugga has been compulsorily retired based on her “track record,” the Indian Express reported citing a government official.
Dugga and her husband, also an IAS officer, landed in trouble last year after they allegedly emptied Thyagraj Stadium to walk her dog. The civil servant couple were then transferred out of Delhi, with Dugga ending up in Arunachal Pradesh.
“Orders have been issued compulsorily retiring Dugga based on her track record,” the unidentified officer told Indian Express. “The government has the right to retire any government servant if it is of the opinion that it is in the public interest to do so,” the officer added.
The two were seen walking their dog in an empty stadium, sparking outrage in the country. Many politicians also intervened with sharp statements about the duo.
