Days after the Indian High Commission in London was vandalised by a pro-Khalistan mob, security was reduced outside the British High Commission in Delhi, as per reports.

Barricades outside the UK mission on Shantipath in Chanakyapuri were removed on 22 March 2023, according to news agency ANI. Barricades were also removed from outside the Delhi residence of British High Commissioner Alex Ellis.

On 19 March, a mob pulled down the tricolour at the Indian mission in London and also broke some windows. The group waved the so-called Khalistani flag.

The attack took place a day after Punjab police began a crackdown on pro-Khalistan preacher Amritpal Singh.
