The Covid graph continues its upward trend, with India's daily new cases crossing the 6,000 mark after 203 days.

6,050 new infections were recorded in the last 24 hours, as per data released on the morning of 7 April 2023. India last saw a similar number on 16 September 2022, when 6,298 cases were recorded, as per the news agency PTI.

As per the latest data, 14 deaths in a day were reported from 10 states and Union Territories.

India's total active cases have reached 28,303. The daily positivity rate has been recorded at 3.39 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 3.02 per cent, it said.

The total tally of Covid cases stands at 4.47 crore (4,47,45,104) The active cases now comprise 0.06 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid recovery rate has been recorded at 98.75 per cent, according to the health ministry's website.
