India's first ever radio channel for the visually impaired was launched in Nagpur. Radio Aksh was launched with Blind Relief Association Nagpur and Samdrushti Kshamata Vikas Avam Anusandhan Mandal (Saksham).

The initiative is an attempt to help the visually impaired gain seamless access to education resources and audiobooks. The radio was necessitated after the Covid-19 cut off access to educational resources for the visually-impaired. Radio Aksh is internet based, hence removing geographical limitations to access.

Trained volunteers who are mostly women help in creating content for the radio channel.
