Indians evacuated from war-hit Sudan narrated tales of horror as they reached Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.
'The paramilitary force's camp was right next to our office. They entered our office and started firing. They looted us. We were kept hostage for 8 hours. They put the rifles against our chest and head,' one of the evacuated men said.
He continued to narrate how they escaped from Sudan.
'We had diesel in our company. We stayed in touch with the embassy and asked them to arrange buses. We filled diesel in the buses that came. 6 buses came in the first batch and each bus had 50 people, so there were around 300 of us.'
Another man spoke about how they faced a shortage of food because of the military clashes.
'There was a lot of firing. It was happening right next to our room. We did not have food,' he said.
Over 530 Indians have been evacuated from Sudan so far.
