Protesting against the BJP for dropping him for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, current Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal rallied his supporters in a show of strength on April 24.

"My supporters have assembled spontaneously in Leh. They are not happy with the nomination. With such a reaction, the big question remains if the party can retain the seat,” Namgyal was quoted as saying by the Hindu newspaper.

According to the Hindu newspaper, he expressed his dissatisfaction with the BJP for picking Tashi Gyalson to represent the Ladakh seat. He also hinted at taking a different course of action but did not go into details.

“I will sit with my supporters and a final decision will be taken. I will consider the sentiments of my supporters and take a collective decision for the interests of Ladakh. People are not ready to accept the nomination,” Namgyal added.

Namgyal shot into the limelight after he delivered a fiery speech in parliament on the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.
