As many as 97 people have been arrested so far in connection with communal clashes over hoisting of a flag before Eid in Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's constituency Jodhpur where curfew continued in 10 police station areas for the second consecutive day on Wednesday.
Tensions broke out past Monday midnight, which saw stone pelting in which five policemen were injured.

The Jodhpur deputy commissioner of police issued orders imposing a curfew till May 4 midnight besides suspending mobile internet services. Nearly 1000 policemen have been deployed to maintain law and order.
Rajasthan state president of Bharatiya Janata Party Satish Poonia on Tuesday requested Governor Kalraj Mishra to initiate an investigation into the incidents related to violence in Jodhpur and also pass necessary instruction to state the government to ensure maintenance of law and order in the state.
