Kaali Poster Row: As Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra faces flak over her remarks of Goddess Kaali, she has received support from Congress’ Shahi Tharoor, her colleague in the lower house of the Parliament.
Stating that he is no stranger to malicious manufactured controversy, the Congress Parliamentarian took to twitter and wrote that he is still taken aback by the attack on Mahua Moitra for saying what every Hindu knows, that our forms of worship vary widely across the country.
Urging people to lighten up, the lawmaker from Thiruvananthapuram said India has reached a stage where no one can say anything publicly about any aspect of religion without someone claiming to be offended.
While taking part in India Today Conclave East held in Kolkata, Moitra had said it is up to individuals how they view their gods. While FIRs have been filed against her in Bengal, her party Trinamool Congress has also distanced itself from her remark.
