Karnataka: bus driver stops girls from boarding for not wearing burqa

An incident has been reported in Karnataka’s Kalaburagi district of a bus driver allegedly asking Muslim schoolgirls to wear a burqa if they want to board the vehicle has emerged. 

India Today reported that the girls were making their daily commute to school when the incident occurred. 

The news website's report quoted witnesses as saying that the bus driver demanded that all Muslim girls wear burqas. He reportedly said that even those wearing hijab will not be allowed to board. 

The students said that they were abused and chased away when they refused to comply.
