Acting on a woman’s complaint, the Kerala Police have arrested seven people accused of being involved in an alleged sex partner swapping racket.
The woman, told police in Karukachal, that her husband was was forcing her to have sexual relationships with other men. Acting on the woman’s complaint, the police said they arrested her husband and found there was a group of people who were using social media sites to operate across the state.
R Sreekumar, the Deputy Superintendent of Police in Changanacherry, told India Today that there is a big group behind this and police are looking for more suspects. The accused belong to Alappuzha, Kottayam and Ernakulam districts.
The India Today report said the social media groups of the racket are suspected to have more than 1,000 members. As many as 25 people are now under police scanner with more arrests likely in coming days.
The police confirmed that people from across the state and those belonging to elite circles are part of the racket.
