A Cheetah tracking team of Kuno National Park was attacked by a group of villagers in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri district on Friday. A member of the forest department was injured in the scuffle.

The team was tracing a cheetah named Asha who had moved out of the protected area when a group of villagers confronted them around 4 am. The villagers mistook the Kuno team for dacoits and attacked them.

A second cheetah tracking team was sent to the location after forest workers informed Kuno National Park of the attack.
