On July 3, the CBI officials said that they have filed a charge sheet against Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, former Union Railways Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi in connection with the land for jobs scam. The charge sheet also names 14 other people. It is the second charge sheet in the case. Besides the members of the Yadav family, the CBI has also named AK Infosystems and several middlemen in the case.
The CBI has alleged that from 2004 to 2009 there was bias in the selection of candidates for the railways without any public advertisement. The substitutes from Patna were appointed in various railway zones in Mumbai, Jabalpur, Kolkata, Jaipur and Hajipur. The beneficiary candidates then through various means sold land to Lalu Prasad's family members at discounted rates.
