Adding to the military capabilities at Ladakh, the Indian army has deployed a new assault vessel in Pangong lake along the LAC (Line of Actual Control) with China. Indigenously manufactured Landing Craft Assault is among many weapons handed over to the Army by Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday.

The new Landing Craft Assault vessel will enhance the operations along the LAC.

The Landing Craft Assault or the LCA is touted to be the replacement of boats for carrying personnel in battle operations in Pangong lake. It has overcome the limitations of launch, speed and capacity. These assault carriers can carry up to 35 troops.
