Almost a month after a controversial religious meeting in Haridwar, another video of the accused has gone viral. This time, religious leader Yati Narsinghanand is seen arguing with the police as they try to arrest one of his associates, as per accounts on social media.
Reports said that the person being arrested is Jitendra Tyagi who was until recently known as Wasim Rizvi before he converted to Hinduism. Narsinghanand and Tyagi are among those named in the case filed over alleged hate speech at a 'dharma sansad' or religious assembly held in Uttarakhand's Haridwar between December 17 and 19.

In the latest video, Narsinghanand questions why police are arresting Tyagi who 'converted to Hinduism counting on our support', as per social media accounts. When police say that they are acting as per legal protocol, Narsinghanand apparently says that they all 'will die'.
A Public Interest Litigation was recently filed in the Supreme Court, alleging that speeches calling for violence against Muslims were made at the event. On January 12, the Supreme Court had asked the Uttarakhand government to file a reply on action taken within 10 days.
