Amarnath yatra stalled amid heavy rains: Officials

Heavy rainfall prompts suspension of Amarnath Yatra between Panchtarani and the holy cave shrine in Kashmir. No loss of life or injuries has been reported. The pilgrims were sent back to Panchtarni camp and will be allowed to resume yatra once the weather conditions normalise, say officials. Over 2100 people had left for the holy shrine to offer prayers from Jammu base camp earlier today.

Earlier also the poor weather conditions had stalled the yatra causing death of 15 pilgrims in the July 1 flashfloods

The yatra which resumed on June 30 after a gap of two years is scheduled to continue till August 11
