Uttarakhand police on 21 March 2023 joined the search for pro-Khalistan preacher Amritpal Singh.

Places near the India-Nepal border in Udham Singh Nagar district, including gurudwaras and hotels, were searched by Uttarakhand police.

The search operation was launched after Punjab police informed their Uttarakhand counterparts that Amritpal and his associates might try to flee the country. Steps are being taken to prevent their escape to Nepal.
