Less than a week after the triple train crash in Odisha which killed at least 278 people, another major train accident was averted in Jharkhand.

The incident took place on June 6, 2023, when the Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express was passing through the Santhaldih railway crossing near Bhojudih station.

A tractor crashed the railway gate and got stuck between the train tracks and the gate. The train driver applied brakes and the locomotive stopped in time, preventing a tragedy.

The driver of the tractor fled the spot. The tractor was seized and an FIR was lodged at the police station concerned. The gateman was also suspended.
