In even more stark footage of the terror incident in Jammu and Kashmir, a CISF bus was seen coming under attack.
The CCTV visuals showed the bus colliding with what seemed to be a road barrier. A shower of sparks and a flash of light follow, and then the bus is engulfed by a cloud of smoke.
The CISF bus had been carrying 15 personnel for a cordon and search operation when it was targeted by terrorists. The attackers lobbed grenades and opened fire at the bus, after being spotted by security personnel at an Army camp in the area.
While 1 CISF officer was killed, 9 security personnel were injured in the attack. However, the terrorists were successfully neutralised.
They are suspected to have been Pakistani nationals, who had recently crossed over illegally into India. They are believed to have infiltrated from the international border (IB) in the RS Pura sector. The terrorists, belonging to the Jaish-e-Mohammad terror organisation, were staying in a locality close to the Sunjwan Army camp.
What has caused alarm is that the attack took place just 2 days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to visit Samba in J&K on April 24.
